Mil-Quip was incorporated in 1981 in Napierville Quebec.
First operating as a re-seller to Canada’s Department of National defence. A manufacturing division was opened shortly afterwards in order to better service our costumer.
In the 90’s, Mil-Quip became a major supplier of spare parts to the support vehicle Directorate and the Armour Vehicle Directorate of the National Defence.
In 1991, Mil-Quip bought L’Hotellier Canada’s facility and product line (a division of L’Hotellier, a French company specialized in container solutions), in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The new facility comprising of 17,000 square foot of manufacturing space and 10,000 square foot of office space permitted Mil-Quip to strengthen its position in the manufacturing (sheet metal transformation) and in the container solution. The core business was metal transformation including cutting, bending, machining, welding, painting and assembly.
In 1993 Mil-Quip started to diversify from Military business by servicing the heavy transport industry.
In the 90’s, Mil-Quip became a major supplier of spare parts to the support vehicle Directorate and the Armour Vehicle Directorate of the National Defence.
In 1991 Mil-Quip was certified to W47-1 and W47-2 in 1997 by the Canadian welding bureau.
In 1998, Mil-Quip opened a division in Sherbrooke in order support the increase of business volume both on the manufacturing and on the vehicle integration side.
In 1999 Mil-Quip was certified ISO 9002.
In 2002 ISO certification was upgraded from ISO 9002 to ISO9001-2000.
In 2004, Mil-Quip opened a second factory in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu encompassing two new paint lines (liquid and power).
In 2006 Mil-Quip opened a third facility in St-Jean. This facility was solely dedicated to mechanical integration.
In August 2007, Mil-Quip transferred all St-Jean production facilities into their newly increased production facility of 47,000 square foot.
Mil-Quip is now active in several “niches”. Container solution, Parts manufacturing for both industrial and Defence clients, design, drawing package, project management and product integration.
